Early morning flight

#phone #roughandready Managed another direct to phone song. It's a long process...record as m4a, convert to mp3, find the converted version on the phone, try to upload it.... looking forward to getting back to my setup in Amsterdam where I have a real microphone. Thanks again to my nephew for lending me his guitar!
Lyrics
No queue to speak of A pleasant change Far too early To even complain The lights were bright The air recycled Day attempted to escape the night
The flight itself, I tick the boxes Crying baby? Check Distressed parents doing their best? Check, check. Unwashed bodies, unpleasant odours? Check Check check And now my eyes are closing fast I try to pay attention to the demonstration But it's hard so early when you can recite it Word for word in your sleep I feel sorry for the attendants Can't be much fun for them either I close my eyes, the weight of my head hurts my neck Before I know it we've arrived Someone claps as wheels touch down A single clap, no one joins in Embarrassed laughter ripples round Glad we're finally on the ground

Life through a microscope. I love straight into phone songs, it captures something simple and brillant about songs. Great vocal, sounds like Luke Haines.
I'm always amazed when people manage to turn little everyday experiences into art like this. The tone felt so somber and melancholic that the pause after the first "check" and the ensuing checklist really caught me off guard!
Oh, nice work! And that description of the flight. ouch. We've all been there...
