Into the West ©2026 - words and music by Sharon Stepler
Let’s fly away tonight Let yesterday be gone Leave behind these memories Race against the dawn
Into the west Let the moon lead the way Into the west Send a prayer for second chances Out upon the wind Into the west
Did we try hard enough? I guess we’ll never know The flowers have all withered here Their dry petals blow
Into the west Let the moon lead the way Into the west Send a prayer for second chances Out upon the wind Into the west
Let’s fly away tonight Our yesterdays are gone Outrun those memories Race against the dawn
Into the west Let the moon lead the way Into the west Send a prayer for second chances Out upon the wind Into the west

When I saw that title, I was taken back to the closing song for the Lord of the Rings film The Return of the King, but your song is nothing like that, of course! Lovely chorus! Interesting theme- following the moon. Really nice overall feel.
I love that chorus, it really captures the feeling of movement and change with some fantastic imagery.
Thanks so much!
I like the idea of letting the moon lead the way into that second chance. Nicely played and sung. Good skirmish!
Milky chords, really nice write, let the moon lead the way is great well written well performed
Dreamy and hopeful in both words and sound.
Aw, very beautiful chorus. Well-written and performed. Nice visual flow from line to line. You can never go wrong with the moon! 🌕 😄 Great take on the skirmish!
