#instrumental #skirmish #strange Unexpectedly found myself listening to roofers all day - first scraping off the old roof, and then nailing the new one in place. There's a rhythm to the nail guns, although each of the three roofers had a slightly different cadence. I recorded them from inside the house and added a melody inspired by the rhythm. Definitely not my usual thing, but it's what was possible today in a noisy environment. When in Rome....

That’s quick thinking! A nail gun works by concentrating pressure, after all, and it’s a chance you’ll get only once every 40–50 years. A fun listen!

I love this! You heard sounds in your environment and transformed them into music. Near the beginning of the piece it reminded me a tiny bit of a typewriter because there were "ding" sounds at the end of some of the lines. Such an amazingly creative response to this prompt!
