Another deadline met, another hour spent Paying interest on a life I only meant to rent. You know I thought when I was younger I’d be taking every thing in stride 
I held a perfect moment on the tip of my tongue
But I just let it sit until my day was done And then somehow it slipped my mind or for some reason just got shoved aside.

And then the minutes turn to hours and the hours turn to days I’m lost inside the static and the mental haze And the weight upon my shoulders is much more than I think I can take.

I need to find my voice and raise it. And reach across this empty space. I need to find enough momentum just to say the things I need to say… Before life gets in the way.

It’s a world of heavy eyelids and shoes left by the door Stacks of bills and laundry piled upon the floor, And in between a glowing screen and read receipts with no reply.

I’m drifting through my life just like a shadow on the wall Wanting meaning from the nothing of it all. And I’m losing to inertia, as the best years of my life go by

It’s a solitary prison, it’s a slow and steady drain With echoes running circles deep in my brain. I’m scared that if I slow down I might see how much I’m not alright.

I’m tearing up the list, I’m throwing out the plan I’m taking back the seconds and the minutes while I can No more lame excuses and no more "wait and see” It’s time to start becoming me.
