Pros and Cons
Skirmish: Careful Consideration (@atornberg)Liner Notes
Thank you for an interesting subject. I went down dramatic way. I think. Music is open to suggestions and interpretations. Some of my ideas were: I wish you thought for longer and didn't go the way you went. Okay, I shouldn't have written it because it suggests what my music is about. Anyway, I'm interested to find out what you hear in my music. It's open to collaborations. Please let me know if you are interested. Thank you for listening and commenting.

For me, this piece brings to mind two different stages. It opens with fearful indecision and then transitions to a decision and movement, albeit made with trepidation. And then we encounter something that forces us to hold up and reevaluate, before starting up again. Really cool that a piece could prompt such a very clear, evocative picture. Impressive playing, as always, Nadia.
I like the feeling and flow of this piece a lot. You can feel a tug-and-pull in the music for sure.
As has been pointed out, I like the variations in the theme of the verses. It's like I'm going through a pro's and con's list right now. 😊 Beautiful!
The ebb and flow of this piece is so engaging. It keeps pulling your ear back in. The movements blend beautifully. As the piece progresses into the higher registers it feels like a decision has been made or a resolution reached.
Ooooo... I like this drama piece and the changes between pros and cons. It's like I'm sitting in a melododrama theatre or maybe I'm on stage performing a dance.
It's such fun listening to how you interpret subjects without words. I really hear the hesitant way it starts...should I go here, or maybe not? it seems to say at the end of the first phrases. The middle gets smoother, but a bit of hesitancy, doubt and confusion. Then it ends more forcefully as if you have considered enough and you are ready to move forward. Very nice!
I love the melody, Nadia...and all the pauses, the stretching of time, and the places it goes (with those low notes always anchoring) suggests a lot of contemplation - which really matches the theme of the challenge. It's like listening to the inner workings of someone's mind, masterfully done!
Unexpected and foreboading. There's great emotion, disappointment and despair. It makes me think of ghosts; visions of the past and actual phantoms. A topline write would be quite easy set to this evocative piece.
