Lyrics

[c5] am g f e the real worlds like walking a path first you stumble then your last

and all the walls that you tear apart greeted with another one as tall

c e7 f g brighter days are going come i can feel them blowing in on the wind

no need to hide your eyes lift up your chin, let your soul shine

so take my hand and let us stand i'll be your rock and you my ground

em dm em am i aint trying to find the long way home em g am i aint trying to rock and roll em dm em am love is easy to find em g am if we learn not to frown

[chorus] [outro verse]

am g f e who'd have thought / that we could find c e7 our way g am searching for a brighter day

Listening to this on Zoom, my ears were drawn more to the minor chords and that E major in the chorus, so I didn't catch as much of the optimism.

I said on the call that I could hear it with a full band and this time my mind went to just some bass and a single fiddle. 🤪

My favorite part is the ending. Something about climbing up and then landing firmly on Am just hits me. It seems we might have shared difficulty with writing something that has unbridled joy and optimism. 😄

This is so beautiful! I love how the melody is both uplifting & still a bit darker. Acknowledging the storm in the sunshine! Perfect chord choices, so pleasing to listen to and 100% carries the song message. "No need to hide your eyes / lift up your chin, let your soul shine" is such a beautiful lyric, it hit me hard (in a good way!) I really love how the lyrics aren't just about going at it alone, but about finding a someone or someones to journey alongside. Really lovely message & delivery! Amazing work <3

Solid chorus! Man I really like that verse line 'love is easy if we learn not to frown' and the song section about walls.
