Lyrics

Origin of Love

Long ago we roamed the earth Four arms, four legs and two faces Til Zeus exercised a punishment Splitting each human in half To weaken them in many places

Now everyone has to search For their other half on this earth

We hope to find that missing piece The one to make us whole Looking everywhere to feel complete Is the dream, the wish, the goal This is the myth The origin of love

We roam and learn to search Unite, as one for happiness That's the origin of finding love Feeling that one part of you Can come along and pass the test

Now everyone has to search For their other half on this earth

We hope to find that missing piece The one to make us whole Looking everywhere to feel complete Is the dream, the wish, the goal This is the myth The origin of love

One is lonely We seek our other This unique part of me To call a lover

We hope to find that missing piece The one to make us whole Looking everywhere to feel complete Is the dream, the wish, the goal This is the myth The origin of love

I want to sing this! I haven't made anything for this year's FAWM due to energy being low, but I like these lyrics so much that I'll try opening up my FL Studio in the morning. (edit: I woke up early and sang it, may I have permission to post it?)

Yes. Be good to hear.

I never heard of the 2 faces myth. I thought you made it up for your beautiful lyrics. Googled it and indeed it existed. Learnt something new here. Beautifully written. I hope to hear it.

Really tightly written, maybe could be a happy hour song with its light take on a big subject. I especially like the subtlety and understatement in explaining the irony of love as a punishment.

really creative--- very interesting myth indeed! poetic and somehow it sorta rings true, even tho it isn't! nice work!
