If it weren't FAWM, I'd probably get bogged down in this one. I can picture myself wearing my editor's cap, drinking a 2nd cup of coffee, and pacing around my apartment in my socks. Now you can picture it, too.

The lyrics are all over the place, but hopefully in a John Prine/"Lake Marie" kinda way.

Lyrics

January's come and gone But minds are far from Spring while gray skies linger February came on strong Cold as a lonely stone waiting to be thrown

They danced across the water They danced

We didn't have to wait for rain The sky opened wide, took the river for a ride It rained for days on end But by the time March was over, the river'd gotten slower

They danced across the water They danced

Look back at the centuries Everyone was born in a time of war It's written in the history It's written into scripture, they wanted us to remember

They danced across the water They danced

They danced across the water They danced

liked this a lot - terrific musically - the harmonica works so well last verse seems like it's from a different song to me

@pabrizzer I know! The thing is, I think that last verse is the song I wanted to write and those first two verses were necessary for me to write to get to that final idea. Maybe after FAWM, I might find my way into editing mode and give this one a little more though. Same goes for "Worried!" For now though, I'm posting these songs warts and all #acousticonetake #gratuitousharmonica
