Father Forgive Me (I'm Turning)
by @rvaross
Liner Notes
A gospel anthem that borrows HEAVILY from U2 (any dotted 8th note fans in the house?). I felt like leaning into building dynamics and scale for this one. To the skies... 'til I could hear and feel redemption. Always fun to swim around in pads and delays.
Lyrics
Eyes stay up and my feet on the ground Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Let my shame shatter on the ground Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Father forgive me, I’m turning
Let my heart break until justice falls like rain Let my tears flow ‘til the hungry can have their fill again Let the powers fall, may your riches rot You don’t speak for love anyway
Eyes stay up and my feet on the ground Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Let my shame shatter on the ground Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Father forgive me, I’m turning
Would you break my heart until I fall to pieces Would you break my heart until I fall to pieces
Eyes stay up and my feet on the ground Father forgive me, I’m turning it around Father forgive me, I’m turning

I really heard that U2 vibe when the guitar comes in in the second section. Love the synth pad underneath at the start as well as the variety of sounds -- all infectious -- within this inspiring song.
I have my arms outstretched towards heaven as I listen to this. Incredible work, best worship(?) music I've heard in a while.
I agree with Felix -- Ross is clearly the SuperStar of FAWM '26. Can't wait for the the WL album!
Ross just keeps dropping banger after banger!
Oh I really like your production - the synth touches - the atmosphere you have created - wow! The backing vocals in the background - lovely. Super engaging melody. Nice use of repetition. OK you really know what you are doing here - what a wonderful build in your song - and playing with pads and delays I guess 😄 . Oh my an acapella ending. I enjoyed every moment in your song - what a great write and performance - production and mixing. Woo hoo!
'You don’t speak for love anyway' - this line is like the PERIOD on this verse. love it. thanks for the outro vox, i needed that
