Just Take a Moment

Liner Notes
This is for the skirmish, "Hey, Kid". I'm addressing some teachers. #folk #acoustic #singersongwriter #guywithukulele
Lyrics
Some are shining stars. They make your job so easy. Their hands are raised. Their eyes so bright. Teaching can be breazy.
Some will disrupt the calm, acting out their rage and anger With Lip to give and feet to kick They overshadow Teaching's lenger.
Some wanted more of you, but would you giveit? They need you to care. But could you liveit? There's something you know and you can show them if you would just take a moment, just take a moment.
Some wanted more of you, but would you giveit? They need you to care. But could you liveit? There's something you know and you can show them if you would just take a moment, just take a moment.
I'm sorry I didn't impress you. I needed time to grow. What could I have become with your guidance. Thanks to you we'll never know.

As a teacher, I really identified with this! I like the idea of speaking to the teachers from the student's point of view - and the last verse - "I'm sorry I didn't impress you. I needed time to grow" - is a heartbreaker.
Thanks!
At first reading this, I thought you were talking from the point of view of a frustrated teacher, but you turned it around at the end of the kid who benefitted from that teacher. Nice touch. Setting this to music?
Arrgh! There's supposed to be a demo. I'll try to figure out what happened and let you know.
I really like the way you used the skirmish topic on this - powerful words. I was thinking I keep wanting to hear 'take a minute’ instead ‘moment’ to rhyme with the other words, but maybe too obvious?
