I Never Looked Back

Liner Notes
It's not you, it's me.
The music video is found footage from the Prelinger Archives Ways to Settle Disputes
Lyrics
You spent your days kicking the back of my chair I knew to ignore you every time you pulled my hair But when you chased me around, I would slow down I never got how you still couldn’t catch me somehow
Oh, no I never looked back Oh, no I never looked back
Now I play a new game called “where are they now” Sometimes what’s lost should never be found Thinking about the life we could have lived instead I can only imagine that now you’re full of regret
Oh, no I never looked back Oh, no I never looked back
[ INST HALF-VERSE ]
Now I can see Thinking back to the past It could have been me Avoiding the facts
Oh, no I never looked back Oh, no I never looked back Oh, no I never looked back Oh, no I never looked No

Really great storytelling here!! (Also, not related to the song but I love how your video goes perfectly with these lyrics - that kind of good ol' days childhood nostalgia)
Thanks so much! I was looking for "playground" footage, but once I saw that first fight in that video I knew I had it. haha.
the chord on "no" is so good, works really well for the chorus!!! I like the change in tone of the lyrics in the "avoiding the facts" part, great job on this one! also creative idea of using found footage :D
Thanks! I was really sweating over that bridge -- I think those 4 lines took more time than the rest of the song! haha. I'm really happy to know it works!
Omg it was my fav part!! maybe because you put so much time into it idk! hahaha
haha -- okay that's a great point 🤔
"Sometimes what’s lost should never be found" poignant line! good guitar and vocals and excellent lyric
Thanks for saying that! I was worried if that particular line was too "heavy" in the song, but I'm glad I left it be and it's working.
yeah i often wonder where those pests went! probably in charge. i do look back a little. Good song nicely delivered
Haha. They probably are the ones in charge 😭
A little before my time, I hope, looks leave it to beaver vintage. Though I do remember hiding under my desk in case of nuclear war. Our desks were made of lead. It's a really cool montage and meshing of the song to the video, it adds a really cool dimension to your song. Nice work
