Liner Notes

#skirmish Very rough lyrics just getting started. I grew up in Southern California and every year we'd travel to Pennsylvania to visit my Dad's side of the family. I would often catch my mom singing "California Dreaming" and never quite knew why. Until I went to New York in the winter a few years ago and caught myself singing the same thing. Snow is pretty. but I am a California girl wanting winters in the mid 60s.

Lyrics

Snow

Snow falling quiet and steadily Like the gods are creating it carefully It softens all things, the barns and the fences Calming my thoughts as I’m watching its silence

This world’s almost fake in an elegant way Reminds me of paintings I saw as a kid Trees stand still, bare arms raised A landscape I only imagined

A song from my past plays in my mind Dreams of California on such a winter’s storm This east coast flurry is pretty to visit But back in LA I’d be warm

Great lyric, which paints a picture with some very nice imagery, and a last verse which ties it all together. Good job!

I grew up in California and moved from L.A. to San Francisco and one year when I was young in the seventies, we did actually have snow. Not all of CA is snow-less. :)

Yes I now live in Northern California. Very different weather up here.

Lovely lyrics, a very nice take on the prompt. I hope you demo it.
