Where's the snow? What the heck?

Skirmish: Snow (@atornberg)Liner Notes
Flew out to Colorado yesterday from Western MA, where there's 20-24 inches of snow that is absolutely frozen in place, with more expected this weekend. The first thing I noticed landing at Denver was that it's warm (62 degrees as I write this) and the usual snowcap on the Rockies is gone! Where's the snow? What the heck? It's in all the wrong places.
Edit (2/5/26 3:15 PM MST) I originally posted just lyrics, but given that I'm out of town for a week, I'm going to post a Suno demo. I have mixed feelings about AI - the latest versions turn out a very listenable product but it's too easy, and kinda not fair to compare to home-grown efforts. The comments I've received about the lyrics (no AI involved!) were positive so I'm going to support this song the best I can being away from home and instruments. #skirmish #snow #lyrics #rockabilly #AI demo
Lyrics
Where's the Snow? What the Heck? (c) 2026 raspberry33
I’m here in Boulder, Colorado, February 5th Bear Peak rises right outside my window Flew in from Hartford with two feet of snow unmelted But here in Boulder, there’s nothing to show.
Chorus: Where’s the snow? What the heck? This year’s the snow’s in all the wrong places Where’s the snow? What the heck? When from Texas to Maine we’ve been inundated Will we get it right before Spring?
(verse) Now 20 miles away from me, a place called Eldora Claims 30 inches of base But it hasn’t snowed in several days and it’s 61 degrees With no precipitation forecast, anyplace.
CHORUS
(bridge) Snow, it’s expected along the Northeast coast From Washington to Bangor Maine, guess who gets the most But right now there’s ten inches in South West Missouri Maryland, Virginia coated in white If I leave right now I could be there tonight
CHORUS
(Outro): I’ve had my fill of shoveling, but listen to me Could we have enough fresh snowfall to finally ski? We don’t want it in the cities, but we need it on the slopes Another polar vortex raises hopes But only well before my flight back home!

I don't think I'll ever ask this question "Where is the snow?" I can sympathize though as many people love snow, especially if they would like to go skiing or make a snowman. Great rocking lyrics!
It's always nice to have a new setting to write about, and Colorado seems a good place for a snow song. Nice work!
Thanks. As you well know from your work with TMF, it's been a brutal winter and people are suffering. So, yeah, it's ironic to be asking "where's the snow" but those were the first words out of my mouth when I landed in Denver last night. Thanks for hosting the skirmish.
I love the rockabilly weather forecast, it’s like you need a map as a backdrop. I can actually hear this. Great share.
I went in a similar direction, but your lyric says it all. Nice idea to do it as a rockabilly song.
