This is based on some conversations I've had with friends recently. I know we can't make a new month where nothing happens... but... I can dream. Hoping for a moment of peace for all of us today. :)

I wrote a strongly worded letter Sent it to my representative A petition for an extra month on the calendar ‘Tween December and when January hits

A month where nothing much happens No insurrections and no deaths No one gets sick and has to miss concert No one breaks your heart because they left

To whom it may concern I know you don’t have a magic spell But let me dream about a world that doesn’t hurt like hell Where neighbors aren’t afraid to go out in case they can’t return And love’s the only fire left to burn

It’d go a little something like this You’d see a neighbor on a walk You nod to them and say “good morning” You’d both have time to stop and talk

You’d find out they were doing just fine In fact they say, “livin the dream” You’d smile and shake hands and keep going And tomorrow we’d do the same thing
