Lyrics
It was like I was locked in an attic Kinda knew something was wrong A bird flew in flew out again Cheerfully singing a song I looked at the sunny day outside I should be asking for more I know I can’t fly like a bird but please Somebody open the door
I was saying Free me Free me Now I can see What I can be Set me free
I saw those doing better I thought they might give me a hand Someone who’s been there and done it before Surely they would understand They tried to draw me a map Step by step to get out But something got lost in the shuffle That’s when I started to shout
I was saying Free me Free me Now I can see What I can be Set me free
There was still a step I must have been missing There had to be some kind of trick One day I simply decided I went to the door and it clicked Now I look back from the outside The place looks so very small It was in my own hands all along There was no one I needed to call
When I was saying Free me Free me Now I can see What I can be Set me free
When I was saying Free me Free me Now I can see What I can be Set me free

This track rocks. I can hear the band behind you churning it out. Cool tune.
Nice job - love the image of a bird trapped in the house. I’m with @mccannrs : would love to hear this with a full band and big backing vocals on the choruses!
Nice meat and potatoes rocker here. I'm not sure what your set up is like, but it would be cool to hear a full demo of this!
Thank you for being part of the skirmish! I like the idea of being set free as salvation. I enjoyed the folk style and great early morning vocal! :) Thanks again for the positivity!
I live the rawness of this demo, it's part of the cri de coeur. A real Bob Dylan feel as my partner pointed out. And yeah by the end I was singing along.
