Riding on the wind

Liner Notes

This song kind of came about as a result of an exercise I did for a songwriting course I took end of last year. So to kind of get back into the swing of things for FAWM I took those loose ideas and made them into a song.

I had some health issues for the latter half of last year that affected my ability to sing and play an instrument so FAWM is kind of my first foray back into doing music again. To be honest I already spent most of the week having to take too many breaks because I pushed myself trying to play guitar. I might be regretting my life choices, but I refuse to not participate in FAWM. March is for dealing with consequences, right?

Oh, did I say I'm a bit rusty with the instrument. I already have blisters after only one song. sigh

Lyrics

Riding on the wind

I’m a gnarled tree My toes have curled in I don’t dare leap Afraid I’ve lost my wings

I’d like to feel, what it means To breathe with ease (So) Pull me in, drag me please Take me riding on the wind

It’s a sad thing To feel a heart retreat Struck down this time I won’t admit defeat

I’d like to feel, what it means To breathe with ease (So) Pull me in, drag me please Take me riding on the wind

I love a song that's gentle, yet powerful. Your voice and guitar sound amazing together. Very powerful. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed all those vivid images and they convey the emotion so well. And your vocal is lovely. The guitar’s gentleness helps tell the story nicely. Good job!

The lilt, tempo, and tone sets the perfect compliment to your lyric. Voice sounds wonderful with the guitar stepping back and letting you soar.

The chorus is really really good. I felt that. The quiet guitar in the background actually brings more intimacy into this performance. That second verse also hits hard. Master work lyric right there.

Once again, some beautiful lyrics! I think your voice sounds lovely, and it really does a wonderful job of emoting! Those chord changes, wow, and when your voice opens up on "riding," fantastic!

Hello Your voice and playing sounds fine to me! Keep going strong at FAWM 26. I'm always looking for Collabs with my words, check some out if you fancy something different, that's the whole poit of FAWM, right?
