I've been fighting with this song for two days. Finally, on my lunch at work today, I made a decisive cut to the track (completely removed a crappy bassline I wrote) & suddenly this track flourished. It came together rather quickly after that & I'm now quite pleased with the result.
So the lesson in this one? Don't be afraid to use an axe (not the musical kind) to fix a horrible song. It just might turn that horrible song into one that you might be proud of.
Built completely in Jeskola Buzz using a couple of amazing VSTi's by the late, great H.G. Fortune, as well as some samples I found at freesound.org & on Loopcloud.

Some mystical sounds, lots of driving rhythm and sense of motion, like running to an important event by moonlight.
Neat, surprisingly short :) love the voice at the end. Looked up your Jeskola Buzz, looks very much like a software I use called Audiomulch. I should record something with that very soon!
Yes, Audiomulch & Buzz do seem similar in their use of modularity. I think the difference comes with Buzz's tracker interface. But it's fun to play around with different tools & create new workflows. Glad I could help inspire you!

This is a super sound explosion in my headphones. Spacey! Epcot-like! Awesome!
Thanks for the listen Kathy! Glad you enjoyed the experiænce.

Congrats for taking the axe out. I kept crafting and axing for two days as well, as if I had learned nothing during all those years ('number 2 is a trap, don't fall into it'). Lovely otherwordly vibes, quite mesmeric with the circling sounds and the beat. I'm getting Hindu vibes from it. Really great.
Yeah, sometimes you just need to know when to chop up the bad stuff & throw it out with the trash. I should do that more often 😄
Merci pour l'écoute & vos commentaires, comme toujours…
On Ce Vera Dans Les Ombres…
sometimes a bass line can carry a song and sometimes it can bring it down. i like this whooshing track, freed from gravity...and the word bit at the end keeps me elevated
Thanks Bill. Glad you enjoyed the journey & the experiænce. I'm glad I dropped the bassline so this could soar.

From the title I was expecting this to be one of your longer tracks but no, short and sweet. Fun space sounds with that satisfyingly thumpy beat. That final sample is intriguing. There's a whole world in those 2 minutes. Good reminder, too. It's hard to kill those darling basslines but sometimes things do just need to breathe.
Yeah, the bass was really killing the song. The song started to grow wings once I removed it. I'm so glad you enjoyed the experiænce. Merci!

Sounds like an ominous night. Trying to sleep while something disturbing creeps somewhere just out of sight. My creepy night was surprisingly cut short by that voice line! What an ending! Like waking up from a dream.
