Two evenings in a row, the cat has requested to sit on my lap for hours at a time, so I ended up writing a song under these conditions, with just headphones and laptop within reach, using the laptop's internal mic for the vocals. Here's my recording setup for this song

Awwwwwwwww! This is the way. The furkids are priority for sure. Catchy track! (And what a lovely kitty! My issue with cats is they start purring, and I end up dozing off! 😆 )

Awww this is 100% the right and correct action. It is illegal to move a cat. I like the kinda sinuous melody here. Little squeaker ❤️

they just like being near! Great beat - that is what you call an earworm - ooo prey to a 2 legged ape - very brave those cats

I also have some cat overlords in my house. Yesterday one generously wriggled onto my lap and nicely nestled in between my laptop and my lap. Now perhaps I could have continued working, but I couldn't disturb the bundle of fluff, also it was raining so understandable. All that to say you are more productive than me in such circumstances and I applaud your creativity. I might start singing "I'm under a cat" as my theme song when the occasion presents itself.
