Suburbia

Liner Notes
#sliceoflife #onetake A sketch of suburbia
Lyrics
There were few signs of life, just hints of illumination Here and there beyond the curtains Certainly nothing which would count as ominous Or at least not at first, but the night was still young
Concreted driveways, alleys between houses Locked gates leading to hidden gardens Monstrous plastic bins All the colours of the dreary rainbow
Suburban life, in all its glory Waiting for a real-life story Reading the news, always somewhere else Nothing happens round here
Dreaming of your escape To the city where the lights shine brighter A very different landscape Waiting for you, one day But not tonight You just draw the curtains closed There’s nothing to see round here

This is great, it really paints a picture of suburbia that I can see so well, love the lines waiting for a real life story, reading the news, always somewhere else...a lot of good lines here.
Fav lines: “All the colours of the dreary rainbow//Reading the news, always somewhere else Nothing happens round here.” Your lyric so captures the essence of slight desperation and hope and putting everything on pause for tonight.
pleasingly relatable . . . . particularly likes the lines "Suburban life, in all its glory Waiting for a real-life story".
Thanks for sharing.
This sounds like where I live. Effective lyric and delivery.
