Technically I'm cheating with this one because the lyrics were written in 2021, but I made the instrumental yesterday and recorded the vocals today so that's gotta count for something, right?
This song was written after my grandfather died.

This had me thinking about how despite the fact that we all die and it's something we can all expect. It still seems unusual to some of us. You captured a very sad lamentful sort of sound with this that really fits the lyric.
I've been thinking a lot about death lately and how uncomfortable the idea of it makes me, that's partly why I finished this song. I'm glad that feeling was evoked!

i appreciate the sincerity of the lyrics, and "their last life has left me" in particular is one that makes me think. i like the chords, they sound jazzy
