I wanted to try writing some lyrics, converting some feelings I've been wrestling lately into a song.
I used an old fashioned Text-to-Speech-to-Autotune method for the vocals, which maybe compliments the "I don't feel human" theme?
The sound design is... A Lot. perhaps too much. but I think it's time to stop fretting and start posting.
to any mods: are the lyrics vague enough to be sfw or do i need a label?
Lyrics
I don't know how you do it. I don't know how you do it.
How do you survive under the weight of the flesh you're in? Where do you find the pleasure in skin to skin? When do I stop feeling like an impostor? My body is a temple and I'm rotting in the altar. I don't care how holy this ground is, It's a foreign land to me. How can you stand to be human?

lol?? this comment surprised me because the vocals are what I'm most critical of. I've been thinking of replacing them! so it's a lovely compliment that you want to flip them ♥ here's two renders for you: https://anosci.net/music/FAWM/2026/idk%20how%20u%20do%20it%20VOX.flac https://anosci.net/music/FAWM/2026/idk%20how%20u%20do%20it%20VOX%20DRY.flac
Thank you so much!!! It’s funny sometimes the things we want to change are the parts that make something special
excellent sound design boss not to mention the drum sample choices. and the foley !! surreal stuff. nice one
oh yeah this is hella sound design hehe fun fact the hazy almost-tonal percussion at ~6 seconds in started as the amen break before being run through ten million effects :D
Glitchy and lot of interesting textures, a bit disconcerting, especially the lyrics and the uncanny valley robotic voice adds to that
a bit disconcerting <- right?? :D thank you!
I feel like I'm listening to the lamentations of a cyborg and it's tremendous. Love this.
there's been a recurring theme of morose cyborgs in my work lately and i love that it came through here even though i didn't mention cyborgs at all in this one!
Would you be open to sharing some of the vocal stems? I'm always on the lookout for fun voices and I’d love to try building something around yours. The "feeling like an imposter" snippet would be SO at home in the flavor of dnb/jungle I'm working in :)
