Liner Notes

I explored this idea yesterday as part of a different skirmish (the worst sound in the world). The skirmish seemed fun and an opportunity to explore this idea again. Who knew that I would be writing the world's worst meditation album this year .

This guitar riff was originally written on a guitar with a Bigsby floating bridge, but due to some issues I'm unable to use an electric guitar to record this. So I tried to do the bends manually. They're a little bit rough but I think you'll get the point.

I like this, I’d like to hear it develop. Definitely lean into the Syd vibe.

This immediately brought up solo Syd Barrett for me...if only Syd had been in a position to posit such wise and affirming lyrics, back in his day! The angular chording makes the song, it would sound very different in more of a trad folk arrangement. I probably hear more influences in this track than were necessarily intended, but the earnestness of Daniel Johnston finds its way in here as well.

Someone else mentioned the early Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett thing too. Which fascinates me because I consider Floyd a huge influence but more their post-Syd era. Maybe I'm destined for greatness. Or to show up bald and overweight to my friends' recording sessions.

The lines are great, "calm your heart as the world tears apart" - conveys how unsettling these times are, and how difficult it is to clear the mind in order to meditate amidst the chaos. Cool take!

Love the guitar part, yeah I could see this being really cool on electric too. Sounds good here though. I like 'try to forget the cost of rice' somehow and the overall message.

I think I can hear what you are trying to - kind of an early Pink Floyd thing is how I imagined it. I like the permission in the song to ignore the stress and meditate to unwind. Thank you!
