The Hive Queen
Liner Notes
Part of ENTOMOLOGICON, my #Experimental #Progressive #Metal project exploring Insects and other bugs through sound sampling, exotic instruments, unusual time signatures, and atypical vocal styles.
This song draws focus to the matriarchs of eusocial colonies: The Gyne Caste, commonly called The Queen.

Lyrics
From the hive collapse shall come a queen of gold and black; she screams, A prisoner until she dies, and so collapse the hive.
The queen, a writhing mass of life- Insectoid sacrifice. She's born only to breed, So hail the damned queen.
Comments
Oh captivating from the beginning, good job at the transitioning into fry scream in the end. Sounds like you put a lot of air into the vocal (ha when I do that it hurts)
One not could be to put an s on collapse , collapses...
It's an artistic choice to sing dam- Ned with n, I feel like you could try out a few diff. Ways to sing that and see what gives the right mood for you, my personal choice would be to sing the M's so it would be Dam'med, again merely a suggestion.
I like the heavy pull downwards from the bass and the grt, like you are being physically dragged down into the hive
There seems to be a be connection between metal, critters and insects. Love that bassline. Is that actually 6/4 or are you tricking me?
It is, in fact, 6/4! I figured it'd be fitting to start this project with a 6, y'know, cuz insect.
I want to use the word "unpleasant" as high praise... is that ok? I love it when metal gets twisted into new realms, when it gets under your skin, when it becomes deeply unnerving. Its why I'm such a fan of Axis of Perdition and Anaal Nathrakh.
I mean, heck, if it was pleasant I'd be pretty sure I did it wrong. :p
For better or worse, there's more where this came from lol.
Great gothic metal vibes coming off this - terrific opening riff, super drumming. Vocals are really powerful with some hints of screamy vocals bringing an extra edge. Queen’s are pretty relentless creatures so this is rather fitting I think. Great start looking forward to more
I can't take credit for those complex drums. That's a remixed sample of "123-123 noclick, not ballroom...." by the Canadian beat creator MrAdamOnDrums via Wikiloops.
I'm glad you mentioned it cuz I forgot to explicitly give attribution in the original post!
Brutal dark heavy snarling sounds bringing a very different perspective to… bees? Interesting project!
Freaky in the best way possible, I’m a bit of a sucker for lyrics with insectoid connotations and the spoken word vocals make it all the better
