I'm using the challenge of participating in FAWM to write about things actually going on… or things on my mind. I don’t often write as a “journal” but sitting down with the intention to actually write something sort of makes you pull from the day, the week, the vibes. Thematically, this one goes down some existential rabbit trails. I had a lot of people I love on my mind as the lyrics came.

“You kissed me like I was going to war” is one hell of an opening line. This chorus is so beautiful, I love the switch to “first time” in the final chorus

This has got so many reflective, contemplative ideas that draw you in. The ending is very satisfying with the "first time" flip and the music really opening up with a burst of positivity. Great playing and delivery!

Dude this song is so well written. I agree that every lyrical choice was so well executed. “I’m tired of pretending like I have a plan” are bars. And don’t even get me started on that piano part…🔥

What a wonderful setting! So moody. I love the lyrics, you’ve really captured that feeling. I also like the twist at the end, smart! This is an amazing production, too with the dreamy layers. Yes, bookmarked for later. The best song I’ve heard in a long time.

OOH love what you did there - skipping the last line of the second verse - adding that beautiful space - and then the pick up line to the chorus "you ever think". I really like the well played keys throughout and also your tender, emotive vocals. Beautiful bridge. Oh the build at the end - WOW! I enjoyed your song - listened twice and book marked it for further listening.
