Still Right There

Liner Notes

Song about two voicemails and a few text message I keep on my phone from friends who aren't around anymore.

Lyrics

Still Right There (020126)

I saw the shopping list you sent me It wasn’t meant for me but it’s still right there There’s a message on my phone I have from you But I won’t find you anywhere

There’s nothing new to see Just memories from many yesterdays I have no need to keep remembering your voice But I still do anyway

(break) You’d let me know that something wasn’t right The doctors said there wasn’t much to do There was no pain the torment came knowing that The moments left were far too few

I keep the messages you sent me Some mistakes when your mind was not quite there There’s a message on my phone I have from you But I won’t find you anywhere

Very sad song of loss. I liked the beginning that seems like a regular day of interaction with a significant other but devolves into loss.

Cool chords! Powerful lyric. This is a solid song all around.

I am imagining this worked into a pink floyd type of treatment.

Lovely and relatable.

Oh wow - Had not thought of that. I'm going to have to try that out. Thank you!

Touching song about old friends. May their memories live on.

Yes, it's a relatable song. Sad but having pieces of them is somehow comforting. You've created a lovely song out of the subject.

Chris, great lyrics here. I particularly like the chord in the last line of the verses. Very effective. Great storytelling and something that we all can relate to.
