Nerium

Liner Notes

From the #poisonerchallenge I was given the toxic plant Oleander (Nerium oleander). Vocal samples are taken from the film Dragonwyck (1946).

This is a #dreamy liquid #drumnbass track that might be a little too heavy on the atmosphere, but that's a problem for another day.

Cool work, very dreamy feel, the voices weave in and out well as it goes.

The atmosphere is top notch. Definitely dreamy, but also urgent and dangerous. The vocal samples (yay Vincent Price!!) are woven in expertly. Very very cool.

Yeah, I was over the moon when I found that film, loads of good lines that I could have used. Thank you for the lovely comment!

You can never be too heavy on atmosphere. This slaps, such a mood

Thank you!

This is super atmospheric. Dark and moody. Great take on the challenge. I've just finished mine so I'm taking a look round the others. I love all the different approaches people use at FAWM. Very mind-opening.

Thank you! I've yet to make my way through the challenge songs, there's just not enough hours in the day!

This is delicious. What a cool dreamy setting for oleander to thrive in. Thank you for adding to the poisonous plant repertoire!

And thank you for that kind words and for hosting this awesome challenge!

Gimme all of that atmosphere! If this is poison I don't want the antidote. Love the ominous opening dropping into that irresistible beat. Very beautiful... but also very deadly ☠💮

Thank you for the wonderful words, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!

i'm not sure what you mean about 'too heavy on the atmosphere'; is that possible? i don't think this is a problem. like this, the combo of the samples and the synths is great.

Yeah, listening on different headphones has shown it's not quite as reverb heavy as I feared it might be. Thank you!
