Next Right Thing

Liner Notes
A song about #resilience, and perhaps #stoicism. Written in a pretty power-poppy way.
Lyrics
Next Right Thing (020126)
(v1) Find a path take a step you’ll only figure out where to much later What stands in the way becomes the way to be and that’s the labour
(pre) Only fools know everything there is To know for there’s so much to learn And live to see what’s coming next Again
(ch) Keep falling down and standing up Keep reaching out and holding on (to hope) Keep breathing in and breathing out It’s not much more to do the next right thing
(v2) I know you’re scared I know this isn’t quite what we had talked about beforehand What can I say we write it down and someone up there laughs at our plans
(br) You take a step I take a step we take two steps together No map no guarantee, not more than you and me whatever
(ch) Keep falling down and standing up Keep reaching out and holding on (to hope) Keep breathing in and breathing out It’s not much more to do the next right thing

Thank you, thank you! It was kind of what I needed to hear when I wrote it, too. Happy it works beyond that.
very pleasant listen and watch! nice strong guitar with the vox sitting pretty tight! I like the message - keep going!
Welcome back! Definitely power pop but in such a good way. That’s one heck of a catchy chorus
A great call to resilience, which we all need right now. We're all in this together and this is a great anthem for us all to get behind. Another banger.
Thank you. Needed something a little uplifting early in the month!
I love the second verse so much - the initial apologetic/reconciliatory tone that unfolds into this brilliant way to gently encourage someone to let go and enjoy the ride. The rhythms you've written bolster the text so well!
Thanks so much!
"What stands in the way becomes the way to be and that’s the labour" - oh wow, I really needed to hear this today! This is a wonderful song, thank you for writing and performing it so beautifully!
