Whew what a year! 17 songs. That's a new record for me. This month has been a blur. Started with a rock song, ended with a rock song.
I knew I wanted to do a Zeppelin thing but I wasn't sure what vibe. I ended up creating this which is a mixture of "The Crunge," and "The Rover."
I wasn't sure what to write about. I didn't want it to be about sex or the blues. Then I remembered Zeppelin loved California. However, I decided to write about my time in Hollywood. I lived there in 2018 and it was a trip. I chose to write about the grittier aspects.
This is so sloppy, the mix, the playing, the singing. But ya know what? I don't care! It's my last song for FAWM 2019 and it was fun.
Damn got the streets closed down
Yet for another star
Jammed on the east side
Moving inches in my car
Stuck here on Franklin
And there’s nothing I can do
Dodging these tourists
As I make my way to you
Boulevard is 98 degrees
Filled with trash and washed with broken dreams
Hollywood is nothing like it seems
If you stay then you will feel the squeeze
Under the 101 yeh
you will see the tents
A one bedroom will cost you
2 grand just to rent
Put down your window
And you will get a sniff
LA is covered with
The smell of cannabis
Walk down the sidewalk
There’s no telling what you’ll see
A pile of shit
Or a man down there on his knees
Look to the hills
And you will see a different life
Perched on that mountain
Where the lights will shine at night
