Feb 28 experimental analog 8-track half-reverse part2 casio
After I did the two songs with backwards drums, using my Tascam 488mkII 8-track cassette player, I had an idea that sounded very interesting (and terrifying)...
Here are the two other songs with reverse drums using the 488mkII

I wanted to record two songs by recording four tracks and then turning the tape over and recording the rest. The first song would be side A and the second song would be side B, and you would have a mix of forward and backwards in both. They would share the same chords, but in the reverse order (and obviously sounding a lot different).
So, here you go with Side B, or Part 2 - Each song was specifically mixed, separately, for that particular song.
You can hear part 1 here:

I was tempted to type this comment sdrawkcab. Thankully that didn't neppah. Kinda reminds me of the Stone Roses with their tape reversing experiments, but actually the overall effect is much closer to Cocteau Twins in my mind. It's really cool how the different layers of the arrangment reveal themselves in unexpected ways when in reverse, and that's only really possible due to the attention given to the writing and recording in forwards in the first place. So this is really excellently constructed. It's a bold move to throw your efforts into an experiment like this but it's also a lot of fun and I think the results speak for themselves. I for one enjoyed it very much.

OK, I've heard no other versions of this yet but - I really like the reversed chord progression here! Very dreamy and cool. The only thing that distracts me is that flickering kind of sound up front. Now I need to hear Part 1!

Interesting how different the chords sound...love this, they're both really dreamy and floaty.

Just listened to both. What a dreamscape you've discovered. I could cycle through this several times, I think.

Really nice

It does sound quite different turned around like this! Cool effect. 😀

Yes, a very very cool experiment. I used to listen to my old recordings backwards, just to try to get a different experience out of them.
I don't mean to obligate @stephenwordsmith or anything (mostly because time is short), but he's a master at mirror lyrics. I can only imagine that words that read the same forwards and backwards would keep with the theme.
