Congrats to all 4 participants. Well crafted four-track, great mix.

  • @elesimo  Feb 28

Woooow, this is super cool. Love that guitar, the bass (keys?), and the mix is solid. Great job on this one, folks! Makes me wish we had a MFTM (March Four Track Month)! 😁

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 28

Ha!! Just now hearing this!! Love what you all did!
And I apologize if I locked you in (cuz I played a bunch of chords that you probably had to use to form what you did). 😀

    @bachelorb Good job with that!
@burrsettles Great job mixing! Do you do it all in the 4-track or bounc it out?

  • @pfoo  Feb 28

Oh, this is great! Drums and guitar holding things together, the synths giving some additional interest. Love the slowdown, and the advice there - breath in confidence, breath out fear. Very cool! Nice sounds.

  • @standup  Feb 28

    Love that flange.

    Post the lyrics!

I like the half-time feel, a bit of stumbling down an alley to it. Groovy fuzz guitar. And those synth bloops are really great.

That last chord has a really rich sound to it, great balance of guitars and keys.

  • @nancyrost  Feb 27

Yeah, stadium anthem for sure, the rhythm set by the drums has everyone swaying, and the guitar has everyone throwing rock hands. The spoken interlude is a nice touch. Sweet keyboard sound - what is that?

  • @zecoop  Feb 27

Oh man, this turned out great!!! I was trying to remember what i had done on drums, and you all really made it epic. I love everything about this song - it's a positive lighters up in the stadium kind of vintage anthem. The keys really gave it that extra edge too - so cool. Well done everyone! 😀

  • @vomvorton  Feb 27

Love that fuzzed out guitar! And the synths were an inspired addition at the end, they give it something unusual to make this more than just a lo-fi rock song. The lyrics sound good from what I can pick out and I love that stripped-down spoken-word section. Forever in awe of anyone who can write a song starting from drums like this!

  • @ayehahmur  Feb 27

I'm in awe at these fourtracktape productions. This one sounds like a longstanding band in a studio to me. Terrific sensitivity to what each other are playing. Great work.

  • @seemanski  Feb 27

Nice one, I love these challenges. I may have to look for a four track on ebay for next year. Getting 70s vibes off this. Reminds me a bit of Tuesdays gone by lynnrd skynyrd. Great stuff. Really enjoyed it.

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 27

This is cool beyond description. Seeing the order of operations and how late in the process they synth was laid down, I love how the synth ends up (to my ear, anyway) distilling and defining what the rhythm instruments were getting at. I hope that's fair? Everything's fantastic and works well together.

  • @edwardsmusic Feb 27

Ah, it's so refreshing to see the FAWM founder finally post some songs (even at this late point in the month)!

I like how the different instruments are panned across the stereo field; it's a nice spacious feel.
I also like the mellow, deep vocals, bluesy guitars, the rich electric piano and expressive drumming. The slow 3/4 rhythm is rather reflective. I especially like the spoken interlude in the middle.
The ending is surprisingly effective; at first there's only vocals, and then the rest of the band immediately follows and concludes the track.
