Lyrics

Ditty of First Desire
by Federico García Lorca

In the green morning
I wanted to be a heart
heart

And in the ripening evening
I wanted to be a nightingale
a nightingale

Soul, turn the color of oranges
Soul, turn the color of love

In the living morning
I wanted to be myself
heart

And at the fall of the evening
I wanted to be my voice
nightingale

Soul, turn the color of oranges!
Soul, turn the color of love!

A fine sparse, haunting, reverby arrangement here. The interweaving vocal harmonies make it almost come-off as a classical piece, I suppose it is, really.

Wow, this is really something special. The compliment of the rich harmonious vocals and that beautifully played, and yet somehow distant piano is haunting.

@tangle's voice works so well in her direct, quirky stuff.. but versitily is clearly on show here, as it works just as well in this more sombre and atmospheric setting. Fuck, this is beautiful. That piano ACHES man. I hope so many more people get to hear this.

Those vocals! What a lovely piece. You guys really captured something here. Wistful.

A joy to listen to. I'm not sure what to add aside from everything I've already said about every @tangle song, but @brendaberezan's piano melds perfectly with the vocals. Warm, meditative piece. Would that all our souls would turn the color of oranges.

@zecoop thanks for your comments and for listening! The lyrics are a poem by Federico Lorca (from mid-20th century) and interpreted so well by Linky.

So amazingly delicate in the piano, the main vocal, but the harmonies just soar and sway and lift these lovely lyrics to amazing heights. This was one of the most beautiful songs I have heard this year, and it really is just stunningly pretty. I love the lyrics are crafted, and I love the abstract images. You should both be very proud of it. I completely enjoyed the listening experience. I had to just stop everything, close my eyes and let myself be taken away. <3

Ethereal vocals, blended so well together. Very visual lyrics. Great last line, "Soul, turn the color of love!" Terrific, really enjoyed listening.
