This would probably need another day of work, but I already spent more time on it than I wanted to. This was born in a jam with JaaRi and I wanted to recreate the polyrhythm (3/4 bass line, 4/4 drums). Then I took it where the band would never go and I didn't want to either, playing around with sounds from the FM8. The ending got more ridiculous than cool. If anyone can recommend a good sampled trumpet, please write it in the comments.
So, yeah, I should stick to guitar.
The lyrics were impromptu placeholders, but then I discovered that they were actually meaningful and suitable for the #week3 challenge.
Around this time last year I wrote songs with the premonition of my relationship falling apart. After a dreadful crisis this summer we slowly got our shit together again, went to some counseling and are working out some ways. One of the key takeaways was that we can't just take turns in staying at home with the kid while the other is out, we have to spend time together and actually communicate. Go figure.
When you're away I won't see the shape of your heart.
