Rough demo of Terrapin Blessing, a song about my turtle watching me unamused and unmoved by my plights. I don't really play trumpet (not since middle school), so it's rough and also the easiest trumpet part around, and I don't play keys or know yet how to program midi so there are mistakes in the drum track, but I wanted to finish this third song today as quick as possible while having all the ideas in there because I'm burning out a bit tbh.
The air dry and silent
Your voice hasn’t rained in weeks
Persistent drought holds defiant
Through your ever tightening cheeks
Though my light is hot as always
You don’t seen to feel relieved
Pacing through your dusty hallway
Two steps to free
You could rest upon my rock
Warmth and life from o’er the screen
I will wade through murky water
That you really ought to clean
And until you finally find where you’re going
Would you please just shake in some food?
I understand. Sometimes I swim against the glass just hoping
I get some where new. I’ll let you brood.
