Was out last night (with many a FAWMer) celebrating @adforperu's sister's birthday. As is always the case with me after a big night out, I've woken up today with barely any voice at all. Given singing was out of the question I set up to do another improvised piece to camera on the modular synth. I thought I'd film from a different angle this time but being an absolute clown with these things I managed to obscure the synth for most of the piece with my arm and back 🙄
Anyhow, as I was fairly happy with the way it went I thought I'd post the audio anyway.
UPDATE: For fellow modular nerds - this track is using a combination of Mutable Instruments Marbles and a Doepfer A-160-2 clock divider to create the rhythms and melodies. The drum 'fills' are created by quickly switching the divisions of the clock divider from power of two (2, 4, 8, 16...) to prime numbers (2, 3, 5, 7...) to integer divisions (2, 3, 4, 5...). It's a neat performance trick I only stumbled upon an hour or so ago!
Oscillator-wise the two units in use here are a Make Noise STO (the first one you hear) and a Mutable Instruments Plaits. Percussion is via a combination of a TipTop BD808, 2HP Hat and an Expert Sleepers Disting firing off a snare sample.
