I got a deck of blank Tarot cards some 20 years ago. ("The Inspiration Tarot" by Patti Provo) I decided to improvise a song for each blank card. The goal is to pull a vector art shape from the song and use that for the card.
I looked at blank cards and sang them songs.
This is one of 100 songs I sang over two days.
These are very rough, as it was less about the song than about the process. The normal Tarot is 78 cards, but I'm working with an expanded Tarot of 105 cards where there are five suits named directly after their elements, there's a zero of every suit (bumping suit size to 15 cards) and the Major Arcana was bumped up to 30 cards.
In addition to the simple vector-style art for the blank cards, I needed a key meaning for the card so I could reasonably compare it with other Tarot resources.
Key Shape: Nativity Star
Key Meaning: Guiding Star
The Star guides one.
The Star guides all.
It's a guiding, guiding star
and come one, come all!
Let's all follow the Star! The Star!
It will lead us somewhere,
I'm pretty sure.
Or maybe it's like the North, North Star
and it does not move or flow through the sky.
And instead, oh yes, instead.
We can use that star to travel, oh my!
That star can lead us.
That star can be our guide!
We can navigate the oceans or the sky!
We can use that Star to know where to go!
And if we know some other's will know us!
We will know where we are on the planet!
We will get from here to to there, on a bus!
On a bus of the winds and the stars!
On a bus in the sky so far!
That star can lead us!
The star can help us go!
That star will be there!
and we will know!
Do we need to turn East or West?
We will know where, yes, where we are.
That star can help us.
That star, oh yes!
And we will travel, travel so far!
That Star, Star! Star!
