My lyric for this one.
The Door
© Cindy Prince 2019
She walked through the giant maze
In a dense summer morning haze
The air was still, no breeze at all
At last she came to a massive wall
In the brick wall there was a door
Larger than anything she'd seen before
Carved oak wood with a large golden knob
And a fire breathing dragon at the top
She grasped the knob, it felt cold
What did the next moment hold
The big door creaked as it gave way
One single candle was on display
She heard a woosh, a dragon appeared
She'd hoped not but it was what she'd feared
The dragon's fire consumed her then
As it had done eagerly time and again
Are dragons real, or mere folklore
You'll find out if you open that door
