All you're getting this year is pretty quick takes. I speak at our senior living center once per month. This Sunday the scripture is the second part of the sermon on the plain - the love your enemies part. My message does bring out the difference between justice and judging so it's not as passive as this song sounds. This song was to bring out the idea of loving because that's what God wants, not because our enemy deserves it. It's from Luke 6:27-38.
Here's a video with a little better timing that I did on Facebook. Me and my Flea! https://www.facebook.com/darci.strutt...
Dear Lord did you see
Just how poor he’s treated me
You want me to love
I just want to push and shove
My child you’re looking the wrong way
When you focus on your enemy
The relationship to care about
Is the one between you and me
Give without thought of receiving
Love though that’s not what they deserve
Remember how I first loved you
And love like the one you serve
Dear Lord did you see
All the things he stole from me
You want me to ignore
And when he asks to give him more
Pre chorus
Chorus
It’s not easy to love
Like my Father from above
But because he first loved me
A loving child I’ll try to be
Chorus

Now I feel like I went to church today! I'd go back if you were the one preaching and singing!
You know how much I love your voice, and I love the sweetness and gentleness with which you deliver this important message.

An interesting take, and progression here I enjoyed, particularly in the chorus. It can be tough to remove focus from the perceived wrongs done to oneself and to turn that energy anywhere else.

Oh so beautiful and so perfect for a weekend. Lovely sentiment and message! I really love this hook and chorus!
