The title to this song is just too AWESOME to render properly on F.A.W.M. so I'll reproduce it in its entirety here:
"Meditation on That Moment When a Slow Synthy Verse Crashes into a Fast Chorus and Finds a Percussive Button Ending, aka My Awesome Birthday Song"
And now, back to the official liner notes.
I told myself that if I hit 14 songs before my birthday, I'd take the time to re-arrange my studio space. Which is what I've been doing for the last few days. I took the leap of claiming the largest area in the apartment for my music studio space and, wow, what a nice change that has been! The clean-up is still not done but I spent some time on my birthday just noodling around on the computer to see how differently things sound and, thus, this litle bit of fun. I spent the most time crafting the tricky phased reverb on the first instance of the chorus by using the hit from a different cymbal and chopping that one out and dropping the rendered results onto the new hit. Then, for the second chorus I just used Valhalla's SpaceModulator plugin on a built-in preset. Hah! Birthday was a lot of fun. I ate bad onion rings and spent hours singing to records while I played Minecraft. I'm gonna try to get a bit of clean-up done over the next few days before I return to F.A.W.M. proper, but I thought I'd go ahead and drop this since I don't expect to be able to carry its undeniable awesomeness to any further heights.
