So, on the minus side, our democracies are failing, leaving unchecked capitalism to destroy the planet and all hope for the future. On the plus side, this (virtual) bass clarinet sounds pretty cool, I reckon.
Something that makes my eyes roll a bit: people who, having scoffed for years at those silly environmentalists, have a kid and start holding forth on how they're now invested in caring for the planet. I mean, glad to have you on board at last, and we all have our blind spots, but do you not realise how that comes across? 'I was fine with killing the planet so long as it didn't affect me too much during my lifetime, but now I'd like it to survive a little longer for my precious child's sake (but eh, I'll probably keep voting for whoever offers the biggest tax break anyway).' Similarly, men who use 'I have a daughter' to express their indignation at women being sexually assaulted. If you didn't have a daughter, you'd have no way of imagining or caring about what your fellow humans are going through? We're a weird species.
Anyway, ignore all that. Here's a song about some creepy café, I guess. (Or white coffee.)
won't you come inside? you look rich and strong
we like your kind at le café blanc
if you like it rough that's okay with me
if you're rich enough then the drinks are free
come and help yourself, someone else will pay
your needs come first at the white café
yes the world's on fire but enjoy the show
the ones out there will be the first to go
