This is my response to the Rune Challenge. The runes I got were 19 Disruption / 18 Flow & 12 Joy.
Each verse takes one rune as its inspiration.
Played on an Octave Mandola GDAD and a 40 year old Chinese Bamboo Flute
Sionnach Donn said to Madra Dubh
Time to leave behind the one that you love.
Listen to your heart, the call of the wild
Awaken my cousin you are nature's child!
Act on the yearning your soul does crave
Give up your life as another's slave.
Madra Dubh said to Sionnach Donn
"Show me the path and we'll slip out of town."
The path led up river and then up stream
In touch with his feelings, Madra dared dream.
They plunged in the lake to greet Bébhar Liath
Who told them: "Now you should cast off all fear.
But beware young cousins of all that is sham!
Nothing can be trusted, not even this dam.
Know your own limits and your own strengths
For the forces against you will go to great lengths!"
Night fell and Madra let out a great howl
His joy unconfined in the here and now.
On wings of silence flew Ulchabhán Bán
And to the cousins he spun a great yarn.
"Behind you the thunder, the wind and the hail
Before you our Mother is forging your trail.
She will offer a hint, she will gift you a clue
But what you do with them will be up to you.
