As is hallowed tradition (I did it once a couple of years ago), I'm forcing myself do the shortest, simplest song of the month in a single take. Apologies for awful phone video quality.
Losing my voice a little (as is hallowed tradition). Had to move the capo down a fret in the quarter-hour between writing and recording this because I wasn't quite hitting the high notes.
Audio only version here:
another plane goes by
another twitch of the eye
you see bombs in the sky
where there's only blue and grey
where is your war, little soldier?
the world's not at all what they told you
you push your friends aside
and shoot your bullets wide
is it fear or pride
that shines in your eyes tonight?
throw down your guns, little soldier
the world's not as grim as they told you
it'll take a little while to reconcile
but we'll get you home, little soldier
just hold on alone a little longer
