Izaak: A fun lyric from my old friend (who plays clarinet much better) that seemed to call for a swing era type ditty. Tempted to call it the week two chromatic challenge, but the chromatic bits are all in the trombone and clarinet, not so much in the melody, so I'll keep searching for a week two tune.
Adnama17: These lyrics wrote themselves. All I did was ask Izaak what color shirt he was wearing and what he'd had for lunch. Inspiration is everywhere folks! LOVE everything he did with it. Thank you Izaak!
Been a turkey sandwich on some whole wheat bread
Nutritious, sensible too
But what if I wanna be ice cream instead?
What hell could I get into?
Yeah my body, it’s gonna break on down
My mind is gonna move right out of town
But none of that matters, none of that’s true
I may be turning grey, but I refuse to be blue
My family and some friends, they might disown me
Shake their heads, and run a scan
They’ll wonder what happened to my sanity
But act my age? Screw that plan
So I refuse to take myself seriously
What would be the fun in that?
I may be blind, but there’s still so much I see
Life is quite grand, that’s a fact
