What a weird tune. The line and melody that originally came to me was, "Why are you driving so slow." It happened when I was trying to leave this parking deck last week. I sang it and thought, "Woah, that's a song!"
As I started writing lyrics the word driving didn't feel right but dreaming popped right in and I knew it was right. From there the words came quickly.
I'm not sure what this song is about. I let the words come and didn't argue. It's kind of dark but I have no idea what the narrator is talking about.
I wanted to play some guitar so I filled the gaps with some melodies.
Why are you dreaming so slow
Do you have nowhere to go
I see you turning as if nothing’s burning
Don’t you want something to show
You’ve had some bad times
And you’ve had so much wine
That nothing has risen to sea
Now we’re in trouble
And this is a struggle
Can we get out of this free
Why are you bleeding so red
This isn’t how it should end
I hear you shouting and your doubts are crowding
Do you recall what was said
Why is this feeling so light
Nothing is left in our sight
I always wondered and questioned your thunder
Don’t you want something beside
