One of the things I do when I come up with a title is GOOGLE around and check YouTube to see if there are a ton of songs already with the same title. Couldn't find any for this one--which amazed me. So pleased! 😀
I try and get one waltz out every FAWM, which is almost cheating--because, to me, waltzes are almost automatically "purty". I like this one, ALTHOUGH you audiophiles might notice that there's a little bit of distortion in there that, for the life of me, I couldn't find the source of in my recording computer. Gonna have to figure that out. I hope you enjoy this. [UPDATE: I think I've figured out the distortion issue--recorded the vocal just too darned "hot", and it was peaking and I didn't notice. I'll have to redo sometime]
A VALENTINE FOR YOU
Words & Music

Shaped from paper in a heart
Pretty soon I'm gonna start,
Painting colors, pasting glitter on with glue.
I'll put words on of my love;
It'll hold the memory of
All I have now, A VALENTINE FOR YOU.
CHORUS:
There are wounds time won't erase;
Hope you're in a better place.
I so miss all of the things we used to do.
You were here, then you were gone;
Here's the heart that I have drawn.
Yes, I'm making A VALENTINE FOR YOU.
I will place it at my side,
On the bed where you once lied;
Now so empty of the girl that I once knew.
It'll stay there through the night,
And still be there when it's light.
All I have now is A VALENTINE FOR YOU.
CHORUS:
There are wounds time won't erase;
Hope you're in a better place.
I so miss all of the things we used to do.
You were here, then you were gone;
Here's the heart that I have drawn.
Yes, I'm making A VALENTINE FOR YOU.
GUITAR SOLO
CHORUS:
There are wounds time won't erase;
Hope you're in a better place.
I so miss all of the things we used to do.
You were here, then you were gone;
Here's the heart that I have drawn.
Yes, I'm making A VALENTINE FOR YOU.

Beautiful timeless song, loving, dreamy, warm, nostalgic and special. Fantastic lyrics, music, playing, singing, instrumentation, demo and presentation. It all works beautifully, tastefully and brings a very beautiful experience of listening and feeling the vibes of love. Fantastic waltz, bittersweet.

A very heartfelt song. It has a quiet gentleness about it and is lovely. Nicely done.

Very sweet. Sounds 100% natural and authentic, distortion and all.

What a relaxed mood this creates. I like that there is still room for romance in the story “hope you’re in a better place”

I love this throwback style. You're obviously well-acquainted with it because it seems effortless. The chord progressions and melodies are beautiful. I actually quite like that mild distortion when it's just you singing (the melody). When the auto-harmony comes in I think it distorts too much (felt the same about the Buffet piece as well). Seems it's oversaturating the channel/mix bus. What are you using to generate harmonies?
