@gregwere approached me in a PM on soundcloud about a possible collab. He picked out this one of his original songs (and FAWM tracks: https://fawm.org/songs/92958/).
We talked about some backup vox, but I also asked if I might cover this. He graciously agreed. Thank you!
Here's the result of two takes. Sorry for the flubbed word in the second verse. I think I changed the lyrics ever-so-slightly, but I totally went with feeling on this one.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this. Having the opportunity to sing harmonies over an acoustic track this gorgeous is so delicious. And Greg is one heck of a songwriter.
Storms were gathering all around,
The cloud black as silk, against white stone.
Lost alone out on my own, in a frozen world.
Snow can be so pure yet hard to hold.
An ache between good friends and there's no flow.
Didn't see the buds of new romance,
It hit me like an avalanche.
Tried to look away and hope it goes,
It's a story that once we've all been told.
Where the words and their faces do not match,
Expect an avalanche.
