Song #3 - Feb 11. I find myself way behind and so I will abandon this fuller demo approach (which I find fun) in favour of stripped down recordings. Got a lot of catching up to do.
This song was inspired by an interview I recently heard in a podcast with an ex-White Supremacist. Someone who took a long journey to see what he was, what he had done, and understand the lives he had damaged along the way.
The Lost Outsider
black ink underneath the skin
it's only one way to begin
in the back of your mind there's a game
that you can never win
Now you're counting what you've got
What you are and what you're not
A mindless act before you're caught
Swinging wide like a drunk prize fighter
The lost outsider
of something you cannot let out
it kisses right you on the mouth
you should have known what you know now
but then you were not in doubt
from a patched up script you were handed
was it said and done?
all those lives you were breaking
could you be mistaken?
