A Place Where I Belong

W2: Chromatic Tune

Liner Notes

Prompt: Chromatic.
Sometime last year I adapted a finger stretching exercise a friend of mine had up on fb to one of my strangest tunings: Bb-Bb-Eb-G-Ab-Bb. It moves down the neck in a chromatic fashion. It sounded so bizarre, but I've wanted to make something of it ever since. The prompt was my cue. I can't get the music down now, but hope to record tomorrow and post.

Lyrics

V1
Unexpected
Life deflected
Redirected
Still Connected

V2
Something stirring
Still so blurry
Atoms Whirring
New life Birthing

CH
I'm taking a trip there
Into my center
The air is so fresh where
I belong
Maybe I can trust there's
Always connection
Always a place where
I belong

V3
Now's the time we're
Quick to rhyme here
Move in light years
Cannot fight tears

This is beautiful. I can't wait to hear the chromatic twist you're imagining. These lyrics are transcendent!

I like this, you said a lot with very few words. It should be even better with chromatic sound. Look forward to a recording. 😀

Nice tuning; that'll be interesting pending, or as per the pattern for the stretch. I personally like what maybe atonally obscure patterns then used with one 😝 -- as I anticipate the outcome.

Wow.. these lyrics are amazing Vicki. What a beautiful flow of clarity, sentiments and intentions. It's complete as spoken word and I'm sure will be greatly adorned by whatever music you put to it!
