Feb 10 downtempo maschine chill fawmtronica
This was the first track I started, the third I finished this year. Also the first track I'd tried to write end-to-end with Maschine, which I've only been working with for a few months now. It took all day yesterday to finally figure out the best way to get this laid down, and it was a gigantic pain in the ass. Maschine is a great tool for getting ideas down quickly and playing electronic music "live" but man. There's got to be a better way.
Imperfections exist here. I'm OK with that. After literally 4-5 hours of wrestling with it I learned a ton, and it turned out fairly well.

That beat got be so stoked. And the way you have all the instrumentation mingling in & out. Wow. This was a wondeful ride. I'm not sure how I missed this one (& a few of your other early FAWM songs this year), but I'm catching up. More like this please!

I used Maschine to build ideas almost exclusively in my first two years on here (13 & 14) but I've not touched it for years now. I don't think I can really remember how to do anything and the software has doubtless moved on from then too! Anyhow, I digress...
Enjoyed this. It's got a very cool laid back groove which I found pretty relaxing (listening to it in bed in the dark as I am). Good stuff!

It has a nice groove and it locks in well around 1:18 or so and is quite catchy.

I picked up a used Maschine as a way to get Komplete before Feb, but it's still sitting in a corner since I didn't want to disrupt my workflow too much. This makes me want to give it a go though.
Love the smoothness of this. It almost has a future-jazz feel. Like I could see it playing in some high-end cyberpunk club.

It may have taken a long time to get there but the results are a good listen. I especially like the higher synth melody and the drums.

I am right there with you on the learning thing. I have wrestled but my workflow is all the better for it. I used Maschine end to end last year, but, you are right, that single threading is a pain in the butt because CPU gets used so quick and then there is the limiting phrase structure thing. But you managed it.
This is such a smooth, buttery groove. All the sounds just melt into each other. The drum work may be some of your best ever. That kit is tasty. Really fine work here.

Cool groove! After 10 seconds or it all comes together! And just gets better and better! Really dig it at about 1:30. The rhythm is fantastic!
