Felt the desire to write at least one song this year. February cold and snow feeds cabin fever so why not write about it. Enjoy!
Time to feed the fire place, the embers fading low.
Don't dare look out the window because all I'll see is snow.
Sun dogs shine with early light, cold grips the country side.
I won't be goin out there lest I want to freeze my hide.
I stay here in this wilderness from one season to the next.
I guess I crave the solitude. This quiet life it gives me rest.
Plenty wood and frozen fish, some venison hung high
Clean water and fresh air to breath, The good Lord doth provide.
I spend part of my quiet day, reading the words He spoke.
So many years and far away that live inside His book.
I have so much to learn from Him and I speak with Him each day.
Thank you for this life You gave, I'll be seeing you someday!
I live here in this wilderness, I spend each day alone.
This cabin offers shelter and protection from the cold.
Don't think that I am lonely or that my mind has grown still.
I've found my slice of heaven, in my cabin on the hill.
