Liner Notes

I wanted to listen to the Fake It Challenge songs but didn't wanna listen until I recorded a version so I bashed this out in a few minutes. It's amazing how fast you can come up with something when the words and chords are already there for you. But the melody is all mine (unless someone else used the same one.)

Great job on the challenge! I love this version. Awesome guitar!

  • @ceilidh  Mar 1

The guitar runs at the ends of the chorus were great! Loved the simple boy-with-guitar feel!

  • @infilktion Feb 28

I really enjoy your guitar work in this song!

  • @theresaj  Feb 21

The guitar is gorgeous. Great tender delivery with a lot of feeling. Great take on the song!

  • @gbg2016  Feb 21

    nice guitar
so interesting that most of us went to some version of a double-time in the chorus

  • @oblivionratula  Feb 19

Like others said, really great guitar work in this. I like how you interpreted the chorus and bridge.

  • @alonetogether Feb 18

your guitar playing is so good here, and i love your take on the bridge

  • @stuartbenbow  Feb 13

Nice, I really enjoyed the guitar work on this one. Great chorus delivery, too!

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 13

Excellent guitar work! This is a nice rendition of the challenge 😀

  • @heliosonorous Feb 12

Really nice melody and the chorus is good and stays with you.

  • @clioem Feb 11

Oh nice riff! <3 The vocals are really working for this style, too. And lovely lyrics!

  • @spirulence Feb 10

I was struggling with the bridge and the verses and the melodramatic quality - you've hit the perfect balance here without making it cliche. Kudos!

  • @factorytale Feb 10

You've made a very good version yourself. Good melody, and the chorus has a very catchy quality. Nice!

  • @pearlmanhattan  Feb 2019

Love the guitar playing and fingerpicking. Beautiful sound on it. There are a lot of melodic similarities through this challenge. I'd like to think it's because we are all talented melodists. A mashup would be interesting. Great work on this!!

  • @judypie  Feb 2019

Hey on fawmtalk you said you were struggling but I see you have 11! So guess the struggle has subsided? I am glad! 😀 Anyway, great job on this, beaut rendition!

  • @jodv  Feb 2019

Nice, soulful rendition! Got me interested in this challenge for sure. Solid vocal performance, too.

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2019

Verse very similar to others; I think you've moved it in a different direction with the chorus from any I've heard yet. Fake-it has been such fun to hear!

  • @lavishdude Feb 2019

What is it about the sea and rough love that pair so well together in song? This is beautiful. I know I'm not supposed to fixate on the performance, but your performance is lovely, to. Extending the chorus phrase for a fifth line was also a good choice. Bravo!

  • @ductapeguy Feb 2019

I love this stripped down Americana take on the challenge. I went the other way down the production hole with mine.

You bring emotional depth to this sad song.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2019

Yes i like this style. The music keeps a sad song from taking you down but gets the message across. Good job mate

  • @schnowd Feb 2019

This is a very enjoyable but somewhat sad song as I assume was your intention. Your vocals convey the pain but give a sign of hope and fit the lyrics very well. Your guitar work adds just the right touch to this tune. Nicely done! I like it a lot!

  • @majordanby  Feb 2019

Great sound on the guitar! Is that a J-45? Sounds lovely.
The little licks make this song. The vocals are great too. Nailed it
